This month the Burgess Hill Pantry celebrated its second anniversary. We have now spent 2 years supporting those in our community who struggle to put food on the table for themselves and their families. The Pantry offers a long term solution to food poverty and as close to a normal shopping experience as possible, giving hope, dignity and choice to those who need it most. On Thursday 28th September we held an evening of thanks for all those who have contributed to our success. We have recently cleared our waiting list and admitted a further 70 members in order to accommodate as many as we can before the hardships of winter. We have 230 members representing 677 adults and 286 children and in the past 2 years over 7500 shops have been made by members. With winter rapidly approaching we are braced for a huge increase in demand, If your organisation can help in any way please get in touch at hello@bhlocalpantry.org If you would like to do a Christmas collection we are always grateful for donations of any size. Tinned foods from meat and fish to fruit and soup, biscuits, pasta, jam etc again please get in touch we need your help!!! In the next few weeks we will be launching our alternative advent calendar, stand by for more information. Get in touch at hello@bhlocalpantry.org |
