Purpose, People & Place Our biennial business awards are an opportunity to share best practice and learn from member businesses. Perhaps none more so than the Green Champion Award, sponsored by Edwards Vacuum . This year the category showcased significant investments and initiatives furthering our members’ sustainability journeys. |
The BHBiz24 Green Champion category was judged by our independent judge Dee Mathieson , Managing Director of Elektra and Chair of Gatwick Diamond Business. Here’s what Dee had to say about Consort’s BHBiz24 award entry: “Win for Consort Frozen Foods – The nature of this business has created some significant challenges to reach the environmental targets, so it made them even more impressive with what they have achieved. |
Through a combination of recycling, using renewables, electric vehicles, cycle schemes and solar power across their sites they have made great progress and plan to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 15% by 2030. Their ECO strategy is built into their delivery model and they mitigate where they cannot yet go fully solar or renewable in other ways.” |
